Summary: Checking on tower after storm, lots of blowdown, removed conductivity sensor
2024-02-12 West Pond Kyle and I arrived at 15:15 PST. We came straight from East End, but it took a little longer than usual because I drove on auto-pilot and got all the way to Owl Harbor before remembering I had meant to stop at West Pond. This is the first visit in about 6 weeks. I wanted to check on things after the storms in the past 2 weeks. All looked ok. The tules have been blown down significantly. There were green tules coming up along the side of the levee south of the pond. The staff gauge read 68cm. I downloaded the met data. I removed the conductivity sensor sn 6096 and its interface sn 3586 because I want to test its TempCoeff’s sensitivity in the lab. I’ve been looking at Mayberry’s conductivity data and trying to figure out how much the TempCoeff matters. I tried to download the picam data, but it failed partway through because I accidentally knocked the main pluggable power loose in the datalogger enclosure while I was removing the conductivity sensor. My second try at downloading the picam failed again, and then I wasn’t able to connect to the picam anymore, even after a power cycle. I decided to leave the picam download for another day. We left at 14:50 PST. We decided to head to Hill Slough and to skip Bouldin Island. Joe and Cove are going to Bouldin tomorrow to installed the new Arable Mark 3s, so they can also download data. |
