Summary: Hot and dry. Standard fieldwork, sonic heading really is true north.

Daphne and I arrived at about 11:30 PDT. We are a little late today because we stopped to play in the mud at Hill Slough. It is clear, sunny and hot (~40C). The grass is dry and crunchy. There are some clouds to the northeast sliding in and dissipating. On the way up near Vacaville we had a few windshields full of fat heavy rain drops. The water hole still had some water in the bottom. The trees still look happy. There were a couple of burn scars along the road from Sacramento.

This was just a quick smash and grab to get the data and get out before it really gets hot. Daphne measured the well and cleaned the radiometers. I collected the flux, met, camera and FD data.
The 7500 read: 442.1ppm CO2, 641.8mmol/m3 H2O, 39.1C, 99.5kPa, 104.1SS

We checked the sonic heading yet again. This time using the old fashion analog magnetic compass. The sonic heading is 14deg true. My phone reports something close but Daphne’s phone is about 10deg high but consistent for that last three visits.
