Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, wetland starting to senesce, cleaned precip bucket
2022-09-28 East End Robert and I arrived at 14:15 PDT along with Patrick, our guest of the day. Patrick is an MBA student who is interested in carbon sequestration start-ups after graduation. It was a beautiful fall day, sunny and warm. There was a breeze if you were not surrounded by wetland plants. There were some wasps buzzing around but they weren't aggressive about it. Approaching the tower along the gravel road, we noticed the tules on the west side of the road were 1/2 brown, which the tules on the east side of the road are still mostly green. At the tower, Robert observed that the tules looked quite brown but the cattails were still mostly green. The water level is still low here, below the staff gauge. The miniDOT and conductivity sensors are still dry. I downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. Patrick cleaned flux and rad sensors and put a new bird spike on the 7500. The old one had broken last time when swapping 7500s for calibration. I changed the eddy clock +30sec from 13:28:10 to 13:28:40 to match the laptop time and restarted logging. The reservoir was 90% full; we refilled it. Robert cleaned out the precip bucket, which had some bird poop in the funnel. We left at 14:40 PDT. |
