Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, buried Theta probe at -10cm depth, PurpleAir microSD card not working--used spare card instead, tested tipping bucket but forgot to adjust

Robert, Vona, Christine, and I arrived at 12:05 PDT. It was mild with a cool breeze and mostly overcast with wispy clouds. We had an atmospheric river last weekend that delivered about 12 cm of rain and sustained winds: the 30-min wind speed was > 8m/s for about 10 hours. Despite all that, the tower and instruments looked no worse for the wear.

We calibrated the tipping bucket sn 65548-615. The tippers were clean from our last site visit, and we tipped the bucket once to empty out the partially filled tipper. We dripped 240ml of water through the bucket using a peristaltic pump powered with a lithium battery. This should result in 50 tips in about 20 minutes. We got 52 tips. I forgot to adjust it before we left--next time. We should turn the set screws 1 turn CCW (away from the tipper).

I downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. There were no gaps in the mux sensor this time; hopefully tightening the Control port on the mux solved the issue. I downloaded the FD data and cleared its memory—there were some high fluxes after the recent rain. The PA microSD card was not mounting on the field laptop at all. I ended up putting in our spare microSD card and cycling its power. The card slot lights blinked appropriately. I downloaded the IRT data by ejecting the card and using CardConvert to convert the fast data to TOB1 and the slow data to TOA5. I put the blank microSD card back in.

Robert cleaned flux and rad sensors. The wash reservoir was topped off.

Robert reburied the Theta probe at 10cm depth. He tried to recreate the original bulk density around the tines without leaving air holes.

We left at 13:00 PDT.
