Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, HMP fan broken--fixed, first substantial rain of the season earlier this week and more rain this weekend
| 2021-10-21 West Pond Joe and I arrived at 14:45 PDT. It was overcast but warm and humid with not much breeze. It has been lightly raining on and off over the past few days; this weekend we are will have an atmospheric river with an expected 12-20 cm rain, wow! The trees along the levee road (south of West Pond) had been trimmed back, somewhat unevenly. The water level is still low and below the soil level. According to the Twitchell Island public hunting page, DWR will not be flooding the rice fields this year because of the drought and high water salinity issues. There may be “dry field†hunts, TBD. I collected met, cam, and USB GHG data. I downloaded the miniDOT data and swapped the desiccant for the miniDOT and water level sensor. The miniDOT sensor was in the air. The wash reservoir was empty; we refilled it. Joe cleaned flux and rad sensors. There were wet bird feathers on the radiometers and spiderwebs and cattail fluff on the 7700. The HMP fan was broken so Joe replaced it with a new 12V fan. LI-7500 readings: CO2 399ppm H2O 840ppm T 23.9C P 101.7kPa SS 93--> 100 after cleaning LI7700 readings: CH4 * (too wet/dirty to read) --> forgot to write after cleaning RSSI 0--> 76 after cleaning We left at 15:10 PDT. |
