Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, 7700 pump had no power--fixed, water level much lower, moved and lowered miniDOT from air into water
2020-11-03 West Pond Ariane and I arrived at 9:30 PST. It was a sunny and mild day with clear skies and haze at the horizons. The inlet was on but there was no water flowing. Joe said Bryan turned it off because they were worried about the river water salinity this late in the season. The water level has gone down a lot—the staff gauge read 13cm. The wetland has mostly yellow reeds now, with about ¼ of the plants still green. The miniDOT was hanging in the air. I moved it from the east side of the tower to the west side, next to the staff gauge, where I could lower it into a puddle. This sensor needs a longer plastic chain to be easily accessible. I downloaded met, camera, USB GHG, and miniDOT data. I swapped desiccant for the water level sensor and miniDOT. Ari cleaned flux and rad sensors. The lower 7700 mirror was pretty dusty. The wash reservoir was full, even though the RSSI was close to 0. The wash pump was not working. I disconnected and reconnected the power cable between the wash box and the 7700, and afterwards the pump ran successfully. There was a little corrosion on the cable head at the wash box. The yellow plastic near the head is also cracked from the tube bending downward. LI-7500 readings: CO2 415ppm H2O 520ppm T 20.4C P 101.9kPa SS 94--> 101 LI7700 readings: CH4 1.7ppm-->1.9 after cleaning RSSI 1--> 74 after cleaning We left at 10:10 PST. |
