Summary: Surface and porewater samples

Daphne and I arrived at around 1:30 pm after sampling at Mayberry. It was sunny and hot, there was no breeze at West Pond. The water level was at 43 cm and had gone down almost 20 cm from the previous week. The inlet was closed although Bryan reprimed it one day after our visit. There was no water flowing downstream at the outlets.

We collected surface water almost at all sites, except for the site at the 0.7 footprint. This site is closest to the center of the wetland where elevation might be higher, as there was standing water elsewhere.

Conductivity/salinity was lower in surface and porewaters than during the last field visit, the wetland has been dried most of the year and it has been during this last month that has remained flooded more or less continuously.

Readings at the tower were:
Conductivity: 209 uS
Salinity: 0.11 ppt
pH: 6.86
DO: 1.85 mg L-1
T: 18 C

Average values found in porewaters:
Conductivity: 320 uS
Salinity: 0.18 ppt
pH: 6.20
DO: 1.4 mg L-1
T: 18 C
