Arrived about 11:30am. Still cold and foggy. The fog finally broke up and it became partly sunny about 2:30 as I was leaving. Cows are around.

Must have been windy. The outhouse was blown over to the west. I up righted it, didn't seem to spill its content though rodents had eaten some of the paper. The plastic tool container inside the tower fence had lost its lid - I put it back together. The under canopy HMP45 and radiation shield had been knocked down and partially broken. I set it back up but it needs to be replaced.

Tower power was down, soil CO2 east and data logger power down. Floor seemed like it was running.

I rewired the soil CO2 power system. I moved and combined the east 24V system with the west 24V system. Four panels in two pairs now feed two pairs of batteries through one charge controller. I ran a new 24V power line to the east box and stepped down the voltage with a voltage regulator for the 23x. All up and running when I left. Probably could use some better-matched solar panels. Panels producing about 0.3 to 0.4 amps in fog, system using about 0.5 amps.

On restart, at least two of the Vaisala probes were acting poorly. Fluctuating from small negative ppm to 3000ppm, one displaying err12. Probably should do in-field calibration to check probes.

Soil co2 cow fence battery probably needs maintenance - tightening connections was a temporary fix.

I fixed a short on the floor cow fence.

A wire was broken on the tower cow fence near the gate - fixed.

Tower batteries need maintenance, but were at 12.1V. I disconnected the co2 profile system and restarted the charge controller. Hopefully this will keep things going over night.

Need to think about power transfer up and down the tower. CO2 profile system uses three expensive DC-DC converters to pull up low voltage from batteries. Many duplicate lines running power up and down the tower. Maybe take the panels off the tower?
