1/27/2010 Arrived about 8:30am. Cold, foggy, little to no wind. Much of the standing litter has been knocked down. System was off due to low battery voltage when I arrived ~11.9V. Started rewiring for conversion to 24V solar system. HMP45 fan was connected directly to batteries. Duplicate lines run for web cam and fan. I rerouted a single line through the main power line to the flux system and split the fan power from the web cam power box. I added a power strip in the computer box in preparation to convert to 24V solar system. Felt I needed to test the 24V equipment more in the lad before I trust it in the field. Solar panels producing 2 to 3 amps - system using about 3amps. I did not copy data, but it looked like there was data most days though most nighttime, early morning data was missing. Cleaned the radiometers. Cleaned the LI7500 lenses of dew. Cleaned and watered fence battery. Checked data logger solar battery - seemed okay. May have bumped the web cam a little in tracing power. Left for Tonzi about 11:30am |
