Summary: Standard fieldwork. problems with the Latte Panda and the FLIR, and the pressure bomb.

Siyan and I arrived at about 10am. We came to Tonzi first today due to traffic at Vaira â€“ see notes. It was mild and partly cloudy with a nice cool breeze. Clouds were coming in from the southeast and felt like tropical moisture. The ground is still very dry and the trees are senescing.

I checked on the Latte Panda and FLIR camera. The screen would not come on and I had to reset the Panda again. After it rebooted there were only about 120 images. I collected the images and software in preparation for swapping the computer. I tried to install the Latte Panda and touch screen that has been running in the lab for weeks, but couldnâ€™t get it to boot. It was behaving as if there was a power problem. I swapped power supplies and Pandas but couldnâ€™t get anything to run with the touch screen. I ended up putting the old system back in. Then I still couldnâ€™t access the camera. Its web page was reporting some kind of â€œout of memoryâ€ error. Telnet still worked but I couldnâ€™t remember how to do much with that interface. I ended up cycling the power on the camera and may have jiggled its FOV a little. However, restarting the camera fixed the problem. I might need to put in a relay to automatically restart the FLIR regularly.

I collected the flux data and OSU data. Siyan did the rest. She tried to do midday water potential but the twigs kept slipping through the gasket before the pressure was high enough to force water out of them.

Siyan lowered the Road Well sensor by about 225cm.
