Summary: Regular fieldwork, new phenocam CF card, checked on BF3, went to pond and checked on fire scar.

I arrived at about 9:15 with Siyan. It was clear, sunny and hot. There is a pall of smoke everywhere, not enough to smell except for an occasional whiff but the distance is hazy and there is a slight burn in your eyes and a heaviness to the air in your nose. The grass is crispy, the water hole is nearly dry, and the trees donâ€™t look so happy. There is a new secondary lock on the gate and the road, especially towards the pond has seen heavy traffic. Iâ€™m guessing both are related to fire fighting. The cow fence is unpowered and we will leave it that way until the fire weather abates, however we did see some cows on the land.

I collected data and Siyan did the regular field work. I cleaned the radiometers and recorded the solar panelsâ€™ serial numbers. I also picked up the broken battery in a lead hazmat bag and brought it in.
The 7500 read: 419.0ppm CO2, 501.1mmol/m3 H2O, 99.5kPa, 30.8C, 97.8SS â€“ 101.9 after cleaning

The BF3 diffuse PAR has been reading low for years. Sigrid suggested I connect to its serial port to check on it, but the pins on its serial are corroded and one is missing. I swapped its internal desiccant. I could solder in a new serial port in the lab.

The CR1000 seemed to have a full set of phenocam images. I swapped the card with a new SanDisk Ultra 16GB card. It takes some time for the 16GB card to initialize but it was storing photos before we left.

We went to the pond. The stream from the pond is dry. The fire burned down the northeast edge of the pond and extends to the north and east from there. The staff gauge read about 14.90ft but was hard to see due to weeds.
