Summary: Standard data collection, we went to the pond, soil co2 system down due to solar battery failure.

Vaira 2018-05-23 I arrived at about 10am with Siyan. It was cool with an overcast that broke up into high patchy clouds. Still lots of flowers and the grass is green only in low spots. We went to the pond – the water level is 19.14ft. I collected the data. I could not connect to the soil CO2 system. On further examination I found that one of its solar system batteries had exploded blowing the top off the battery. The other three batteries were totally drained at about 4V. I disassembled the battery bank sn BB-VR_soilco2 bringing in the three dead, whole batteries to trade in their cores and will collect the damaged battery in a disposal bag next time. Soil CO2 is down until new batteries are installed. The solar charge controller for the soil CO2 system is a MorningStar PS-15 serial number 03220377. The main solar system has a MorningStar PS-30M the serial number is hidden on the back of the device There are only 126 phenocam images on the CF card again. Still need to get new cards. Siyan did the standard field work.
