Summary: Lots of flowers, problems with new CF cards from phenocam image collection.

I arrived at about 9:00 with Siyan. It was clear sunny and warm with a strong breeze from the west. It was very windy across the central valley with lots of dust and debris in the air. The grasses have reached their peak and are starting to turn yellow. There are lots of flowers. The trees look heavy with leaves. There are no wet spots left on the road. We saw trucks and trailers headed out. Maybe moving cows to greener pastures already?

I collected all the data and then checked on the camera. It had only recorded a couple of days of data. I installed the new Ethernet switch and put in the new Verbatum CF card. I tested the script on the camera and kept getting and error about not being able to open a file. I thought there might be a problem with the camera that was blocking the file transfer. I had seen this once before when its disk was full, but I couldnâ€™t find anything wrong. So we went to Tonzi. At Tonzi I discovered that the CR1000s could not mount the Verbatum CF cards for whatever reason. We returned to Varia on our way home and reinstalled the SanDisk card.
