Summary: Inlet running but water still low, knocked down wasp nests and tules near solar panels.
West Pond 2018-05-16 I arrived at 9:40 with Daphne. Thunderstorms to the north but otherwise mostly sunny and breezy. The wetland is starting the green up with mostly tules visible above the thatch. The Inlet was running but the water sensors were still out of the water. There were many wasp nests under the upper boardwalk that we knocked down. The 7500 read: 392ppm CO2, 540mmol/m3 H2O, 18.5C, 101.9kPa, 100.3SS – 103 after cleaning. The 7700 read: 1.92ppm CH4, 39.8RSSI – 74 after cleaning. After cleaning the CO2 was probably closer to 410 and the water may have come down a little. We saw similar offsets at the other sites. We forgot to check the wash reservoir but most sites took very little water. Daphne cut back the tules near the solar panels but we could probably raise the solar panels a foot or two with some longer pipes for the low side. We left at 10:15 |
