Summary: Wetland greening up, water level much lower, cleaned fluorometer, collected miniDOT data, added staff gauge
Mayberry 2018-05-16 I arrived at 15:00 with Daphne. It was breezy and mild with patchy clouds. The weeds on the levee are out of control. The solar panels were nearly lost in the weeds. I cut a path and around the panels. The wetland is looking green – maybe 50% of peak. The water level was quite a bit lower. The conductivity sensor was out of the water. We lowered it. I put in a new staff gauge attached to the scaffolding with a conduit hanger. The water is at 38.5cm on the staff gauge. Bryan gave us a new key for the Mayberry cable gate. The old lock is still there but may be swapped out soon. The 7500 read: 397ppm CO2, 614mmol/m3 H2O, 21C, 101.6kPa, 95SS – 98 after cleaning The 7700 read: 1.91ppm CH4, 49RSSI – 84 after cleaning. The CO2 and H2O values were probably closer to 410 and 500 after cleaning as seen at other sites. We collected the lower miniDOT data. We forgot to bring the upper miniDOT to reinstall. Daphne disconnected the fluorometer and did a thorough job of cleaning it out. The measurement windows looked clear but its overall condition is much improved. We collected water samples for Isabel at 14:15 PST We left at 15:45 |
