Summary: Installed Tower computer but no modem, upgraded power connections, updated GMP343 profile program, updated Floor well/zcam program
Tonzi 2018-02-28 I arrived at about 11:00am. It was partly cloudy, and cold with a gusty wind mostly above the canopy. It rained Monday night and there are puddles in the low spots in the road, but the ground is not as wet as I expected. Rob Conkling stopped by. He said a couple of cows got loose the other day because the gate did not get locked properly and he was going to add some links to the chain to make it easier to lock. He also was very appreciative of the Christmas candy Dennis sent. I did some rewiring in the Tower power box. I moved most of the load lines to a pluggable terminal strip. This makes it easy to disconnect individual lines. There are two free spaces for new lines. I installed the LattePanda for the third time. This time it mostly worked but I forgot to bring the cell modem. I was able to connect to the floor met and soil moisture 23x, the Tower met CR1000, and the old tower co2 profile CR10X. The Tower met CR1000 is on the Ethernet line that used to run from the computer to the Phenocam. I could also see the camera. I didn’t try the LI-7500 as I’m planning to down grade its firmware next time. Also I need to change the rename_upload script to do the renaming even when the files are too big. The old Tower co2 profile system was running and the on screen numbers looked okay, but its final data is all corrupt. The internal battery is dead and might be causing this. I’ll try replacing the battery next time, but I left it running. I collected the data from the new GMP343 profile then updated its program so that missing data is filled in with the last good reading. This avoids having a single NAN value blow the entire half hour of data. The data drop rate was very small. I also collected the new well data before uploading a new program to the CR200. The new program drives the zcam as well as collecting the well data. If I want to collect the SMD data from the Licor system I will have to change to a 10X here eventually. |
