Summary: Fixed power line at T1 Open Water and brought in RPi cam for upgrade.
East End 2017-08-09 Temporary Tower #1 Open water I was dropped off about 11:10 to try and fix the power problem. I brought wire with me to replace the line from the solar panels out to the tower, but I first wanted to test the existing line again. The existing wire has a third conductor that we did not test last time. I connected all three conductors together at the charge controller and started to walk the line out to the tower. Not too far in I found a place where the white wire was exposed by chewing and had rotted – accelerated by being in the water. At the tower I had good conductivity through the black and bare ground wire. I decided to use the existing line connecting the black (insulated) wire to the positive terminal on the charge controller and the ground (non insulated) wire to the negative (ground) terminal. WARNING: Black is positive. We will bring some red tape to better mark this next time. At the tower we had 26V and the eddy system booted up. The 7500 read: 381.88ppm CO2, 778.9mmol/m3 H2O, 101.66kPa, 24.74C, 98.1SS – 100.1 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.42ppm CH4, 5.4RSSI – 1.89ppm CH4, 68.89RSSI after cleaning The fan for the HMP45 might not be running. Temporary Tower #2 Closed Canopy We stopped by this tower about 13:00 to pick up the Raspberry Pi camera to bring in for improvements. |
