I arrived about 8:30 with Siyan. It was mostly clear, sunny, cool and breezy. There was heavy dew on the alfalfa that got our feet and lower legs wet, but the ground was dry. The ditch near the solar panels was empty of water. We walked back in the ditch and along the mowed edge of the field to the east on the other side on the ditch.

All of the bird spikes have fallen off on the 7700 hat. We need to try that again with a different method and swap hats.

The sonic with older firmware is showing spikes too, so it is not the new firmware causing the problem. I am seeing a similar pattern of data loss in the soil moisture probes and I think the problem has something to do with the soil moisture probes turning on and causing a brown out that resets the sonic. I moved the sonic to use 24V upstream from the DC-DC converter that supplies the 12V for the soil moisture probes. This should fix the problem with the sonic, but we still need to solve the problem with the soil moisture probes. A separate DC-DC converter or a capacitor might fix the problem.

Siyan topped up the wash reservoir. The USB stick that went in was a 16BG stick and took longer than usual to start logging data.
