Summary: Showing Rob the sites, computer locked up, soil sensors mapped, lost 15 days of met data.

Arrived about 10:30 with Rob Rhew. Rob is looking for some wet, marshy place to make halo-carbon chamber measurements. Rice field still dry, herbicide and fertilizer applied. Clear, sunny, warm, light breeze.

Solar good, pulling almost 4A with LCD screen on, batteries at 13.2V, panels providing 14A.

Computer locked up again. Hard restart. Copied data and pics.

Checked location of soil heat flux plates, soil thermocouples and soil moisture probes. Black heat shrink on soil TCs painted white.

Met data from 23x for days 104 to 119 lost due to new data logger program upload and computer lockup.

Took soil samples near Theta probes for calibration.

Soil sensor locations:

Three arrays of type T thermocouples at 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32cm below the soil surface are placed SW, W and NW of the tower
Two Theta probe soil moisture sensors are placed SW and NW of the tower near the thermocouples in those locations.
Four Soil Heat Flux plate are placed SW, W, WNW and NW of the tower at 1cm below the surface. The plates calibrations are:

Plate#23x channelsn location
H1DIFF 900244WNW
H2DIFF 1000243SW
H3DIFF 1100246NW
H4DIFF 12002211W
