Summary: Tower Compute Stick hung up, Floor lost about half its data due to low power, took down wind profile, tram derailed - fixed, swapped tower HMP45 fan

I arrived about 11am with Siyan. It was clear, sunny and cold with a light breeze that turned into a stiff breeze above the canopy. There have been a couple days of rain, but the ground is not sloppy wet and the pondâ€˜s level doesnâ€™t seem to have risen much. I think the ground sucked up the rain like a sponge.

The compute stick at the tower was on but did not respond to the mouse or keyboard. I forced a restart and it did a full reboot. It has not collected data for the last three days, but otherwise seemed to have run well. Iâ€™m not sure what is causing it to hang up.

The Floor system only collected about half its data because it is losing power overnight. All the data is being collected on data loggers now, with only the CR10X for the Floor soil temps, AirT, RH and Pressure not having much memory. I down loaded all the data from that CR10X and it is good for about 38 days. So I decided it would be okay to turn the Floor computer off. With the computer running, the system was pulling 2A. With the computer off it was pulling 0.7A. I also checked the water level in the batteries. The two batteries to the east that are wired in the middle of the string were low on water and I refilled them. The others were okay, with the one in the north west corner having one of its caps loose and over full.

I also took down the wind profile set that was put up for Ana. This was getting power from the floor system so removing it should reduce the load on that system as well. Four sonics were removed from levels 1: sn 0852, 3: sn 0839, 5: sn 0843 and 6: sn 0846. CR1000 sn 66250 and CFM sn 13053 were also removed. I left the IR surface temperatures running as I think that data might still be interesting.

The Tram was derailed near its starting point, but it reset just fine.

I serviced the z-cams. Cam 1 had some condensation inside again. I replaced the putty that has been holding the window in place with silicon. The other windows seemed secure.

Siyan collected data, did soil moisture, dbh and water table.

The HMP45 fan at the top of the tower was not running. I replaced it.

The Floor fence was broken it two places. We repaired it.
