Summary: Field has been mown, we clipped around ground sensors, swapped 7500, squirrels are burying the solar panels.
| Alfalfa 2015-04-23 I arrived about 1:00pm with Patty. It was a mild, sunny day with a cool breeze from the west. The field has been mowed and the clippings were pretty dry looking. We cut the alfalfa around the ground sensors. These had not been cut in a long time and had thick stems. More ground squirrel activity around the tower – they partially buried the corner of one solar panel. Need to bring some repellent again. I swapped the 7500 head Removed sn 75H-2176: 404.78ppm CO2, 581.5mmol/m3 H2O, 88.55SS, 23.79C, 100.9kPa Installed sn 0065: 406.4ppm CO2, 576.3mmol/m3 H2O, 71.9SS, 23.9C, 100.88kPa Patty labeled the soil respiration collars. Collar 1: 3.84, 3: 2.27, 4, 4.7 The 2cm Forerunner probe looked a little loose. Reburied a 2cm. Need to bring soil corer to replace Set B 16cm thermocouple. |
