Summary: Site senescent. Data collection. Ad-hoc ebullition experiment. Rad boom was tilted for last couple weeks.

We arrived about 10:00 PST. It was cool and becoming cloudy. The site is almost completely senesced. I collected data. Sara, Pascal, and Sam took water samples and did an ad-hoc ebullition experiment that Joe concocted. They captured bubbles released from the sediment under a tupperware as they were walking around and sampled the gas with a syringe. Then Joe injected some of the gas over a flame to see if it would burn. It did indeed!

We downloaded data from the miniDOT probes and verified the sensors at each location and their correct wiring in the datalogger:
Top (A): CO2 sn GP20140010, DO sn 1220
Mid (B): CO2 sn GP20140024, DO sn 1219
Bottom (C): CO2 sn GP20140025, DO sn 1221

While pulling up the probes, Joe noted that the copper mesh on the DO probes was much cleaner than the plastic mesh on the CO2 probes.

Before we left, Joe noticed that the radiation boom wasnâ€™t level. The bolt that allows the boom to swivel inward was not installed, so the boom sagged to the west. I found the bolt and secured it.

CO2: 394 ppm (same after cleaning)
H2O: 590 mmol m-3 (same after cleaning)
signal strength = 95.95% (99.66% after cleaning)
p = 101.4 kPa
t: 19.3 Â°C
sos = 343.5 m s-1
CH4: 1.98 ppm
RSSI: 53% (61% after cleaning)

Met looked good.
