Summary: Standard fieldwork, tried to swap AM25T mux or AM16/32, but did not seem to work, the ant are back.

I arrived about 8:30 with Patty and Madeleine. It was clear, sunny and warm with just a breath of breeze from the north. The field was mowed last week. The cuttings are still drying and the nubs have not re-sprouted much yet. The irrigation ditches around the edges of the field are mostly dry.

I swapped out the AM25T sn 6767 that has been failing for a AM16/32 sn 1164. However, the AM16/32 didnâ€™t seem to solve the problem â€“ all the soil TCs read nearly the same ~26C. I hooked up a TC directly to the CR1000 and it read 19C. I made sure both the AM16/32 and the CR1000 were connected to the same ground. The AM16/32 was clicking properly and correctly reported a broken TC on channel 6 and a missing TC on channel 15 when I removed it for testing. Must be some problem getting the voltages from the AM16/32 to the CR1000, but beyond my abilities in the field. I left the AM16/32 ticking away, and we will see what the data shows next week.

I may have left a test program running on the CR1000, so that means no met data until we fix it next time.

The damn ants are back inside the CR1000! They mostly left while I was working in the box, but we need to bring some more putty and try to seal the cables better. I think they are getting in along the TC wires.

The 7500 read: 439ppm CO2, 510 mmol/m3 H2O, 93.3 SS, 101.97kPa, 25.71C

Patty and Madeleine took some clip plots, spectral measurements and washed the solar panels.
