East End: 2014-04-28 14:50:00 (DOY 118)
Author: Cove Sturtevant
Others: Joe, Sara
Summary: Data download. Small amount of tule growth along berms. Water level low in surrounding checks, but not ours. High DO readings, probably real. Other readings good.
East End Wetland 2014-04-28 We arrived about 14:50 PDT. It was sunny, warm, and windy. Nice waves in the water. You can see less berm erosion where the tules they planted have taken hold. Nothing much going on yet except some tule growth along the berms. Water level was low in the checks surrounding ours, but was fine in our site. The DO probe was reading about 35, but Sara thought it might be because there was a lot of mixing in the water column with the high winds and not much oxygen demand since there is very little plant growth. Joe plotted the variability in the DO with wind speed after we returned and there was a very clear correlation. Cool to see the difference in DO between this site and Mayberry where the much lower DO values there accompany the large amount of organic material. We tried to use a new 4GB CFM card in the eddy CR1000 without success. We moved the data off the old card and reinserted it. Apparently upgrading the CR1000 OS to v25 or higher will let us use up to 16GB CFM cards. 7500 readings: CO2 = 15.6 mmol m-3 (15.8 after cleaning) H2O = 500 mmol m-3 (380 after cleaning) Diag: 248 (same after cleaning) t = 23.8 C p = 102.2 kPa 7700 readings: CH4: 1.86 ppm RSSI: 53% (78% after cleaning) Reservoir was pretty full. Refilled. MET looked good. |
