Summary: Standard fieldwork and data collection, 7700 was tube plugged up - MacGuyvered
| Alfalfa 2014-01-23 I arrived about 2pm with Patty. It was hazy, sunny and mild with little to no wind. Strangely, in Berkeley this morning it was clear with strong gusty winds. The alfalfa looks a little greener to me but still not growing much. The 7500 read: 415ppm CO2, 294mmol/m3 H2O, 19.7C, 101.3kPa, 76.1SS The 7700 read: 2.46ppm CH4, 4.58 RSSI – after cleaning 86 RSSI The 7700 wash reservoir was almost empty and the RSSI was so low. I set the 7700 to wash its mirror every few minutes to try to figure out the problem. It seemed like there was high pressure in the tubing. Finally I decided that the spray nozzle at the 7700 was plugged up. I tried to clear it but no luck. I ended up cutting off the spray head and zip tying the tubing in place so it sprays on the mirror. This seemed to work but might be delivering more water than usual. I reset the 7700 to spray every three hours at RSSI below 20 but changed the spray duration from 10s to 5s. Patty did the Spectra measurements and cleaned the solar panels. |
