Author: Cove Sturtevant
Others: Sara
Summary: Soil drying. Swapped out 7500A. Swapped out HMP45. Leveled pyranometer. Cleaned rain gauge bucket of bird doo.
Twitchell Rice 2013-08-28 We arrived about 08:40 PDT. It was sunny and warm (22 C) with a nice breeze. The soil was still moist but able to be walked in without waterproof boots. The rice continues to seed. I attended to the tower and downloaded data while Sara did clip plots and spectral. I swapped out the 7500A with a newly calibrated version (removed sn 0065, installed sn 75H-2176), and updated the calibration settings (including pressure). 7500 readings: CO2 = 385 ppm (394 after cleaning, same after swap) H2O = 680 mmol m-3 (705 after cleaning, same after swap) signal strength = 79% variable +-0.5% (81.5% and stable after cleaning, 85.6% after swap) t = 19.6 C p = 101.6 kPa sos = 345.6 m s-1 There were spider web filaments blowing in the 7500 path before cleaning. 7700 readings: CH4 = 1.9 ppm variable +-0.1 (1.9 and stable after cleaning) RSSI = 41 variable +- 2 (72 and stable after cleaning) Reservoir was full. MET data looked good. We swapped out the HMP45AC (removed sn U3030032, installed sn U3030046) because Laurie noted some funky readings in the data. Readings looked good both before and after the swap. We leveled the pyranometer, which was tilted to the south. The grate to the rain gauge bucket was on the ground and the funnel blocked with bird doodoo. I cleaned the funnel and replaced the grate. |
