Summary: Standard fieldwork. Checked the DO probe.

We arrived around 9:30 PDT. It was warm and sunny with a nice breeze. It was a very clear day. We had a nice and clear view of Mount Diablo. The rice is growing well this year. Jenny Palomino and Yanel did clip plots and spectral measurements. Iryna, Dylan and Brittany were also there making LAI measurements.

While Jenny and Yanel were sampling at the rice, Dennis and I were at a meeting with Bryan Brock and others from DWR from around California. At the meeting, Bryan and Dennis gave a presentation about the importance of reversing subsidence in the Delta and how this can potentially be achieved through wetland restoration and growing rice in the Delta. Bryan also talked about how the DWR is hoping to develop a greenhouse gas offset protocol for wetland restoration in the Delta. Dennis and I talked about some of our preliminary results.

Dennis and I arrived at the rice around 11:30 to show the DWR group our tower set-up. I also checked the DO probe while we were there. DO seems low (~1mV),but similar to the values we're seeing at West Pond so I decided to leave it until we look at the data more closely. Laurie, let us know if this looks too low once you process the latest data.
