Summary: Lots of cottony material out and about, lots of algae in water. Swapped out 7500 and 7550 for upgraded firmware. Set up wireless MET connection (AWESOME!).

Permanent tower
We arrived about 10:30 PST. There were clear skies, it was warming nicely, and there was a decent breeze. There was even more cottony cattail material all over everything this week as well as more considerable algae build-up on the sub-surface instruments. Sara and I cleaned the tower instruments, downloaded data, and swapped out the current 7500 (#0614) and 7550 for one with a new firmware version (#0397).

Current 7700 readings:
CH4 = 2.03 ppm
RSSI = 35 (bumped to 80 after cleaning)
The reservoir was generally full but we topped it off.

7500 readings prior to swap (s/n 0614):
CO2: 405 ppm
H2O: 360 mmol m-3
agc: 43.8
p = 341 m s-1

7500 readings after swap (s/n 0397):
CO2: 410 ppm
H2O: 363 mmol m-3
agc: 15.6
7700 connected and all outputs checked.

Then I worked on setting up the wireless connection while Sara went out into the water and cleaned the subsurface instruments and took water samples. We received the new outdoor antennas and they worked like a charm. There is a new connection in the field computer Loggernet for the Mayberry 23x. Make sure to use this one because the baud rate is set to 38400. We downloaded MET from the tower and all looked good.

Sara wanted to mention that the CO2 probe in the channel is currently 15 cm below the water surface and the one in the tules is 5 cm below the surface.
