3/30/2011 I arrived about 10:45 with Siayn. It was mostly sunny and warm with some high thin clouds. There was a light breeze but I did not notice direction. We met Mr Tonzi with probably his grandson cutting up the pine that fell a while ago and a newly fallen oak near Mr Tonzi house. The ground is very wet with standing water in low spots. The grass is about 5 to 10cm and the oaks have less leaves than at Vaira. Here maybe only a 10% leaf out. I swapped the LI7500 on the tower. Sn 0041 went on and sn 0976 came off. The radiometers were clean but the Rnet was a little tilted and I straightened it. The tower hamp45 fan was working and I replace the floor HMP45 fan and solar shield. The lowest inlet for the CO2 profile system had water in it and almost no flow. I took apart the filter assembly and let it dry in the sun before reassembling with a new filter. I calibrated the system. Zero was off by +13ppm and span was off by -12.08ppm. The N2 tank has 500psi and the 384.08ppm CO2 tank has 1400psi. I sprayed a protector on the new battery terminals. The power system was reporting 14.0V and 4.1A load. The solar controller was indicating the batteries were at bulk level. I serviced the z-cams swapping cards and cleaning windows. The windows were pretty clean and all seemed well. The tram was running. The tipping bucket in its new location was clean and seems to be working. The clocks on the tower and floor computers were within a minute of my cell phone. I fixed the battery connections on the soil CO2 cow fence. I worked on cleaning up the data logger connections on the floor computer. I setup daily renaming scripts of all the data loggers and added a description to the file names: tz2_yyddd.10x -> CR10X2_soilt_yyyyddd.10x tz3_yyddd.23x -> CR23X3_soilmoist_yyyyddd.23x tz5_yyddd.23x -> CR23X5_soilco2_yyyyddd.23x tz6_yyddd.23x -> CR23X6_tmet_yyyyddd.23x The sap slow data logger CR10x17 was already swapped over previously. I removed all the old MD9 tasks from the PC208W list. The hope is to upgrade to Loggernet eventually. |
