Summary: Updated CR1000 datalogger program to edit modified Bowen calc, FD chamber performance check, removed PRIout sensor
2024-07-17 Bouldin Alfalfa Robert and I arrived at 9:45 PST (10:45 PDT). It was sunny and mild with a cool breeze. The first field on the left when we turn off of the highway has been planted with corn this year (homogenous corn canopy). Our alfalfa field was flowering with lots of white butterflies flitting about. Robert took veg height and spectral measurements and cleaned the rad and flux sensors. I downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, and FD data. I moved the FD chamber to lay on its side and ran an annual routine performance check on the FD chamber. I accidentally lost connection to the chamber about halfway through (jiggled the USB-ethernet dongle when I shifted position), so I had to start over. Once it finished, I uploaded the FD offset and exported the results. I installed the FD chamber back in its usual vertical orientation. I updated the CR1000 datalogger program to edit the modified Bowen-variance method calculations. It now uses a constant pressure instead of no air pressure data to calculate qsat. I also removed the code for the PRI sensors (narrow FOV PRI sensor was still reading, but incoming PRI sensor had been removed for a while). I removed the PRIout sensor sn 930103961 from the rad boom and brought it back to the lab. While I was waiting for the FD to finish its performance check, I tightened the datalogger and AM16/32 screws. All seemed fine. I also washed the solar panels and trimmed some of the taller weeds around the panels. The 7500 read: 404ppm CO2, 666mmol/m3 H2O, 22.7C, 101.6kPa, 98SS—99 after cleaning We left at 10:50 PST (11:50 PDT). Patty and I talked on the phone a few more times about her program. They confirmed that the wiring was correct and that both the 7200 and the CSAT3B were working and producing reasonable numbers, but they weren’t seeing anything on the datalogger for the microSD card. She checked that the serial addresses of the sensor matched the datalogger program. In the end, she said they were going back inside for a break from the heat and would call Stephen for help. Back in the lab, I took the spectral card out at some time and couldn't find it again. No spectral data from this date for now. |
