Summary: Hot and dry, swapped arable wind set, standard data collection, cow path at pond disturbed cable run.

I arrived at 12:05 PDT. It was clear, sunny and hot with some puffy clouds over the mountains. There was a bit of tropical rain at the coast on Wednesday, but doesn’t look like it fell here – the grass was crispy. I still need to do seasonal biomass!

I measured the well and collected the data: flux, met, FD and camera.
The 7500 read: 427.2ppm CO2, 494.0mmol/m3 H2O, 41.6C, 99.3kPa, 104.1SS

I also swapped the Arable wind set. The old one has been reporting wind direction but not wind speed. Taking the old one off I noticed that the phone jack connection looked like it had leaked and the contacts had corroded.

I went to the Pond. I haven’t seen any cows for a long time but it looks like cows have made a path along the edge of the receding pond and kicked the pressure sensor cable. I think they pulled some slack from the data logger box. I was able to push the extra cable back into the box and push the conduit under an existing rebar stake. I piled some rocks on top for good measure. The last staff gauge is visible and read 13.35ft – it was hard to read as the gauge was far from shore and dirty.

I left at about 13:20 PDT
