Summary: Standard data collection, maybe a little tropical rain recently

I arrived at about 10:00 PDT. It was mostly overcast with some blue sky to the west. The road from Sacramento had some wet spots along the edges and it smelled like damp earth. Here at Vaira it just seems humid – the grass is not so crispy but not wet either. No water at the bottom of the water hole. Big black ants were busy because of the cooler humid conditions I think.

Loreli from Arable was here on 07/21 to install a prototype Mark III. Looks like she drove out to the tower and parked under the radiometers. I spliced a nick in the wind set cable with a screw terminal but wind speed (but not direction) is still missing from the Arable data afterwards. Maybe I’ll swap in the new wind set next time.

I measured the well and collected the flux, met, FD and camera data. The serial port was still a little funky but I think I got it straightened out at the end and was able to connect to the FDs and the CR1000.

The 7500 read: 428.6ppm CO2, 711.5mmol/m3 H2O, 21.7C, 99.5kPa, 104.6SS after cleaning

I cleaned the radiometers that were definitely spotted with a little bit of dried rain.

I left at about 11:00
