Bouldin Corn: 2022-08-04 09:50:00 (DOY 216)
Author: Daphne Szutu
Others: Carlos

Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, full corn cobs, can't connect to FD chamber, Theta probe soil T not working well, changed eddy clock +1min

Bouldin Corn

Carlos and I arrived at 9:50 PDT. It was hot and there was not much breeze. It was clear and there was actually decent visibility. The corn cobs are fatter now, pretty much the same size you would see in the supermarket.

Carlos got started taking veg height. The corn stalks are still tall and green. Joe reminded me that the Arable in the field probably needs to be raised next time.

I downloaded met, cam, zcam, and USB GHG data. I downloaded the PA data and cycled its power. I downloaded the IRT data by swapping the microSD card and using CardConvert to convert the fast data to TOB1 and the slow data to TOA5.

I was still having trouble connecting to the eosFD. I checked the cable on both ends and cycled its power. I could hear it start up but still couldn't connect. Last time this happened, the data was fine. Maybe I need to try a new cable for the field.

The Theta probe soil temperature data had many NANs since mid-July, although of course while I was looking at it, it was giving reasonable data. I checked the datalogger wiring and the the cable at the sensor; both looked ok. I checked the other datalogger and mux screws and they all seem fine.

I changed the eddy clock +1min from 9:22:30 to 9:23:30 to match the laptop time. I also changed the phenocam clock +30sec from 9:29:30 to 9:30:00 to match the laptop time.

Carlos cleaned the flux and rad sensors and topped off the wash reservoir. There were some animal organs (leftovers from a bird's meal) on the upper boardwalk which made Carlos gag.

The 7500 read: 417ppm CO2, 682mmol/m3 H2O, 31.0C, 100.9kPa, 99SS -- 102 after cleaning
The 7700 read: 2.0ppm CH4, 35RSSI – 81 after cleaning

We left at 10:45 PDT.
