Where: Tonzi/Vaira Ranches Who: Ted Hehn & Matthias Weather Tuesday raining hard and rivers are flowing through the Floor system and about ½ inch of water is present everywhere on the ground. Flowers beginning to bloom. Yellow and purple/blue Tonzi Ranch: 22Mar05 Tuesday arrive and all systems running. Heavy rain. 23Mar05 12:45 Wednesday Floor system Batt V = 12.5 Solar A = 4.0 This does not compare well with the Vaira site. Load A = 2.0 Charge status Green Tower Batt V = 11.7 Solar A = Load A = 7.0 Charge status Blinking Red Thursday 13:07 Remove Cr10x7 wp 21291 x31307 cal 7/22/02 due 7/22/03 Install CR10x wp 10203 x19482 cal 8/31/99 due 8/31/00 Remove ground wire from cr10x7 post to MD9 -> multipoint ground 13:48 Install ITPS low dropout regulator power sequencer module with 5 second power on delay on CR10x7 to reduce power up failures on the CO2 profile system. Check tower batteries with electrolyte tester. Batts closest to inputs have more capacity than those further away. Results range from poor to fair. 14:06 CO2 & water channels of LI7500 very noisy and there is no structure to traces. Visual inspection of LI7500 indicates water present on inside of case on lens of the upper egg. 14:31 Floor Send measur18.dld to CR10x7 from tower computer and key pad shows LOG4 which is very, very strange. Press *0 and LOG1 shows on keyboard and system begins to operate. Communication with CR107 from floor PC has been lost. This happens every time I use the tower PC to communicate with CR10x7. Pulling power plug on cr10x7 is only method to reestablish communication. Check electrolyte in floor system batteries when fully charged. Batts closest to input in upper fair range and those farthest away were in lower fair range. Solar regulator at floor system in overcurrent drop out so I reset the system by disconnecting the battery input and removed 2 solar panels from the array. 16:07 tower Water present in CO2 profile system intake tubing. Remove all filters and inspect. Level 1 (closest to ground – 1/ meter) had water present in intake filter and tubing. The filter on the LI820 intake showed slight signs of moisture on the intake side but was clean on the output side of the membrane. I don’t believe the LI820 was adversely affected. The filter for the next highest level (1meter) also had water present in the filter but not in the tubing. Use nitrogen cylinder and blow water from intake tubing. Disassemble LI7500 #418 and egg was contaminated with water as is the base. 18:00 Shut down tower system and leave site. |
