Summary: Ground sensors out of ground, accidentally left AC off, Jaclyn took soil samples.
| Twitchell 3/18/2010 Arrived about 9:30am with Jaclyn. Clear, sunny, strong wind out on the NNW, warm. The southern part of the field near the tower has been disked. Tractors will continue to work in the field for the next couple weeks, so our ground sensors remain out of the ground. I accidentally left the AC off in the box last time out so the box was hot ~91F. The LGR seemed fine though hot 9:59, 2.0326ppm, 9122.06ppm, 410.98ppm, 48.90C, 134.35Torr, 13.873usec Verizon seemed to be connected � it has been sending data sporadically. Computer and data loggers remain on standard time. No daylight savings time problems. Might need to reset the clock on the LGR at next calibration. Swapped in calibrated LI7500 � using SDM address 7 Sn Sn 0418 on - had to change SDM address to 7 Fixed the soil temperature probes. The above ground portions of the probes are painted white. Heavy equipment working at the pumps and drainage ditch south of the field. Jaclyn, cleaned the radiation sensors and took soil samples for respiration. Notes from Jacyln in an e-mail: "I took a soil profile at 5 depths: 2cm, 10cm, 18cm, 25cm, and 32cm below the surface. I'm still working on my methodology with the post hole digger/auger, so it's kind of difficult to get a perfectly evenly spaced profile, but I got as close as I could. I measured CO2/CH4 efflux in the lab using the LGR in a closed system immediately when I returned. I'll analyze the flux depth profiles later today or tomorrow, and will send out the results.
