Summary: Swapped HMP fan, conductivity and Eos CO2 out of the water - fixed, Phenocam images lost due to corrupted card, diffuse PAR motor dying, Temp tower well measurements
Sherman Wetland 2020-06-16 I arrived at 12:40. It was clear, sunny and warm with the usual west wind. The water level was 72cm - lower than last time and looks very brown. This wetland looks greener than the others I visited today. Maybe a loose cow leaned on the power pole knocking the cover off the breaker box and knocking the other outlet box off the pole. I replaced the cover on the breaker box and loosely hung up the other box. The 7500 read: 405.2ppm CO2, 442.4mmol/m3 H2O, 22.2C, 101.5kPa, 97.2SS The 7700 read: 1.91ppm CH4, 50.0RSSI – 83.9 after cleaning. I topped up the wash reservoir. I swapped the HMP fan that had died. This solar shield is missing a bolt too – maybe swap it out with the one I just removed from MB. The diffuse PAR motor is dying here too. I was able to push on the power contacts on the back of the motor and it started up again, but better bring a spare next time. I cleared the reeds from the Eosense CO2 cable and got the sensor back in the water. I collected the miniDot data. The conductivity was out of the water. I lowered it into a puddle. I collected the miniDot data. The solar panels need cleaning next time. Looking at the camera images in the lab the card was corrupted and the first week of images were not recoverable. Watch this card for retirement. I left for the temporary tower at 14:00 I arrived at 14:00. There is no water near the tower. Pepper weed is in heavy bloom here and to a lesser extent at the main tower. The cattails are also blooming so lots of pollen in the air. I cleaned the solar panels here just before I left. The 7500 read: 397.2ppm CO2, 510.2mmol/m3 H2O, 24.6C, 101.7kPa, 92.6SS – 95.3 after cleaning The 7700 read: 1.88 ppm CH4, 50RSSI – 73 after cleaning The wash reservoir was full. I didn’t see anything wrong with the HMP data or wires. The top of the well pipe is 74cm above the ground. The water level is 130sm below the top of the pipe. The ground wire on the water pressure sensor was not connected. I connected it and the sensor had reasonable numbers. I downloaded the Picam images and cleared its memory. I left at 14:45 |
