Summary: Grass is growing, trees are bare, standard fieldwork, went to the pond, smoke to the south? electric fence back on.

Siyan and I arrived about 11:00. It was cool and sunny with little to no wind. There was more rain yesterday and fog in the Delta this morning. The ground is officially wet but not soggy and not too much run off yet. There are puddles in the road. The trees are mostly bare except for a couple stubbornly holding on to a few leaves. The grass has germinated and is 3 to 5cm tall. I did not notice any difference in the grass under the trees versus the open areas.

We collected the data and did the soil moisture and well measurements. No problems found.

I fixed and turned on the electric fence when we left.

We went to the pond. The road up the hill was still passable with two-wheel drive.

There was what looked like a fire to the south visible from the rise near the well. White smoke rising from a relatively larger area. Maybe a controlled burn.
