Summary: Surface and porewater collection

Joe dropped me off at West Pond at 9:15 am. The water level was low. I took surface water samples at the tower, inlet, outlet and at the old chamber platform close to the inlet where standing water patches remained. There was no standing water across the footprint.

Pore-waters were collected using puspoints at the 0.5 footprint. Water could not be pulled at -10 cm (water table was below this depth) but at -20, -30, -40 and -50 cm. A permanent station will be installed for monthly monitoring.

pH: 6.22

Joe picked me up at 1:30 pm. On our way back we run into Bryan Brock who told us that the outlet system will be redesigned in spring as the pond does not hold water anymore. Until then, the inlet will remain closed.
