Siyan and I arrived at 11:00. It was clear, sunny and hot. There was rain here on Monday and Wednesday last week. Usually the first rains leave muddy streaks on the instruments and solar panels but I didnâ€™t notice that. I could see places on the ground that looked pockmarked by rain.

Along Irish Hill Rd there are big patches of a yellow flower that seems to be tar plant (Holocarpha). The flowers have largely died now but it is one of the only things that still seems to be alive on the ground. I donâ€™t remember seeing it in such quantity in previous years.

The Tower computer was running okay â€“ the data looked complete. At the top of the tower I replaced the 5-port D-Link Ethernet switch with an 8-port TP-Link switch. The new switch runs on 5V from the CR1000. This gives us more ports to connect a laptop and the CR6 running the CO2 profile with one port to spare. I connected the CR6 with the existing older Ethernet line that was most recently use for a serial connection to the Tower top CR1000. The CR6 is now connected to the Tower computer and should have its data spooled up on the computer for transfer. I set the CR6 IP address to: 192.168.2.6

The 7500 co2 values were high.

Floor 7500 read: 393.3ppm CO2, 573.1mmol/m3 H2O, 33.9C, 98.6kPa, 92.8SS

I checked the locations of a couple of Laurie and Naamaâ€™s trees.

I serviced the z-cams. The radiometers were clean and the HMP fans were running. I collected the soil CO2, FLIR IRT and Floor well data.

Siyan did soil moisture, wells, collected the Road Well (water level seems below sensor) and IRT data. She also did midday water potential. Tree 102 is actually the group of trees near the water potential table, tree 35 is the group of trees between the road and the old Floor fence line, and tree 92 is Liu Kangâ€™s tree. The pine water potential is done on one bunch of three needles.
