Summary: Dry and crispy, forgot to bring equipment - did not download soil co2 data, powering Arables with main solar power.

Siyan and I arrived at about 10:30. It was sunny and hot with a patch of high thin clouds moving off to the northeast. The ground and grass are crispy, but I still saw three or four green weeds. We left the electric fence off. The water hole still has water. I found a dead snake in the road on the way back which I may have run over on the way in. I think it was a Western Yellow-bellied Racer.

I forgot to bring lots of things today. I forgot the silver netbook. We had the white netbook but its USB to serial adapter was missing. There was a Quatech box at Vaira and a USB serial adapter at Tonzi but the white netbook didnâ€™t have drivers for them. I also forgot to bring my USB drive that probably had the drivers. On top of that the white netbook had not gone to sleep on the way out so its battery was already half gone.

Despite those limitations I was able to get the flux data and the met data. The soil CO2 data will have to wait until next time. We will probably lose some of it as the CR10X will run out of memory and start overwriting.

I replaced the Arable solar panel that was plugged into the prototype unit with a line to the main solar system. This line also has a plug for the older Arable unit so both units now get extra power from the main solar system.

We did not do spectra to conserve the netbook battery and because not much change in the dead grass from last time.

Siyan did soil moisture, measured the well and cleaned the radiometers.
