I arrived at about 11am with Dennis and Siyan. It was warm and sunny with a nice breeze at the top of the tower. Lots and lots of flowers especially the yellow ones. The grass is still pretty green though it is mostly the broad leaf, native vegetation. Dennis remarked on the number of dead branches on the lower parts of the trees.

I checked on the tower computer. It seemed fine and the FLIR still had good focus. I added a USB drive to the open port and edited the FLIR batch file to move the images to the USB drive. I uninstalled the FLIR IR Monitor and IR Config software we installed last time that was useless. I did not remove the dotNet 3.5 package though.

I collected the eddy data. Both sets of eddy sensors had a bunch of spider webs that I cleaned off. I also evicted a spider from the floor IRGA. I collected the IRT data. I think the data was okay but the programs need some work to put it away properly. I serviced the zcams.

Dennis did the soil moisture. Siyan collected the other data, did the well and DBH measurements and midday water potential.

I replaced the smaller scale on DBH gage on tree 102. It had fallen off on 5/14. I glued it back on with a little dab of super glue. The new reading is 8.8 but the last couple of readings will have to be estimated by comparison with the other trees.

I checked on the COSMOS system â€“ it has been missing some readings recently. We cycled power on the electronics box and reset the connector on the antenna. Nothing looked wrong.
