I arrived at 10:00 am with Dennis, Kuno, Robert and Baptiste Dafflon from LBL. We also met George Moussally from Mirage Systems at the Tonzi Gate. Baptiste and George were there in association with the SMAP project and are thinking that Mirage System may fly a Ground Penetrating Radar over the site to try to get at soil moisture. The GPR may have problems with the clay soil but they were also interested in the Electro Magnetic Induction data we have. Kuno and Robert had not seen the sites yet.

We also saw Rob on our way in. He was on is way out taking piles of old scrap metal away. Rob said wild pigs have been digging up the land to the north of our tower.

The ground is very wet and sloppy in the low spots. The pond looks close to completely full.

At the site I collected the data from all the data loggers. Dennis did the soil moisture and manual well depths. Kuno and Robert removed the remains of the last sap flow station just south of the tower. Kuno removed the dendrometer band on Tree C4. I can put it back next time. Robert and Kuno also swapped the z-cam cards. I read most of the Dendrometer bands.

The Open soil co2 profile didnâ€™t seem to be working. I think the voltage from the control port is too low being shared between the three solid state relays. I tried to rewrite the program to use two control ports but it didnâ€™t seem to work and I reloaded the old program. Next time.

The Floor HMP45 was laying on the ground when we got there. Robert put it back into its solar shield.
