I arrived at about 10:30 with Siyan. It was cool but sunny with a light breeze swinging from west to south. The ground is damp but not soft. The pond is still really low.

I collected the flux data and swapped the 7500s for calibration. At the tower sn 0073 came off and sn 0042 went up.

At the Floor sn 75H-2514 came off and sn 0041 went up.

Siyan collected the met data, zcams, soil moisture, dbh, and wells. The global water logger at the road well was not responding â€“ maybe dead batteries. The Floor well has been dead since we upgraded the solar power but I didnâ€™t see this until days later when I looked at the data.

I moved the solar panel shaded by the JPL equipment. I drilled new holes for the u-bolts on the upper edge of the cross plates. This allowed me the shift it down and I had to move it to the east to get some slack in the cables.

The JPL radiometer boxes have been packed with acorns by the woodpeckers. I sent photos to Gerardo. Next time I can open the boxes, clean out the acorns and pack the holes with foam.

I dug a test hole for fences post near the Floor solar system. Very red soil with a few rocks at the top, then a layer of heavy yellow clay giving way to crumbly sand/rock at the bottom. I think the hole was about 60cm deep and good enough for fence posts. I put a 2x4 in it to mark it and keep cows from stepping in it.

I was planning on splicing the solar panel cable on the OSU SP1 system where it has been chewed by cows but there was no solder in the kit. However there was enough slack to just cut off the chewed part and reattach the remaining length to the solar panel. I had to remove power from the data logger while I did this.
