Summary: Things are wet and green from first rains last week, fixed cow fences, two dead trees fell, FLIR cal panel twisted.

I arrive at about 11:30 with Siyan. It was mostly cloudy and cool. The ground is damp and there are small puddles on the road. The grass has begun to grow 2-3cm. The first rains on the year fell most of last week.

I collected data from the Tower and Floor using the new (to the field) laptop for the GHG and phenocam data. It looks the Floor has been losing a lot of data due to failing solar power.

I also worked on the soil co2 system. The relay for the Tree 1 set of Vaisala has been stuck in the on position. I tried to replace it with a solid state relay, but the SSR works on the ground side of the line and it seems the signal ground is not isolated from the power ground so power was still flowing through the analog grounds on the 23x. I directly powered the Vaisala and left it for fixing next time.

We repaired the cow fences. I fixed all the wires around the soil co2 system and turned on the charger â€“ all seemed well. The Floor still has two small fences around the tower and the solar panels not electrified. At the Tower I put in three new fence post south of the tower cutting about half of the fence line off. The fence is now just around to guy line anchors of the tower.

Two dead trees near the tower fell over. One was between the OSU system and the old sap flow station and the other was near Z-Cam 1. The one near Z-Cam 1 is just visible in the upper left corner of the photos and fell between the 23rd and 24th.

The cal panel for the FLIR had been twisted around about 90 degrees so it was almost edge on to the FLIR and IRT. I twisted it back into position.
