I arrived at about 10:00 with Siyan. The Bay, Delta and Central Valley were all very smoky, here it seems to be mostly clear with no whiff of smoke in the air. There are high thin, white clouds with a little cool west breeze. It is still very dry and the trees are brown.

I collected data from the Tower, Floor, soil co2 and OSU systems. These all seemed to be okay. The 7500s seemed dirty. I cleaned both. I also cleaned the Tower radiometers.
Tower 7500
Before cleaning: 401.7ppm CO2, 223.4mmol/m3 H2O, 100.4kPa, 20.2C, 95.6SS
After cleaning: 411.8ppm CO2, 184.5mmol/m3 H2O, 100.4kPa, 19.9C, 100.5SS

Floor 7500

I affixed the fine wire TC to the outside of the FLIR window again with a small pea-sized lump of putty. Otherwise the FLIR system seemed okay.

I added four thermocouples to the FLIR cal panel. I drilled holes in the back of the board and fed the TCs through then stapled them to the front adjacent to the holes. I spray painted them black. After connecting them to the data logger and uploading a new program they read about 34C and the IRT was reporting about 41C. Hopefully the wet paint was making them cold.

The small fences around the Floor tower and solar panels seems to have kept the cows at bay.

Siyan did moisture point, wells, clip plots, DBH, the z-cams, and finished up the data collection from the IRT and Road Well.

The camera that JPL has put on the Tower is a Campbell model CCFC capable of 5Mp images in RGB and NDVI probably using a movable near-IR filter like the StarDots. It costs about $3k.
