Summary: Setup up Ameriflux inter-comparison, swapped 7500, added 7500A eddy system.

I arrived about 10:30 with Daphne. Stephen, Sigrid and Alex from Ameriflux arrived a little bit later to set up an inter-comparison. Everything is very green. There was some more rain the last few days, but warm and sunny today.

At the site Ameriflux began setting up solar panels in the northeast corner of the fenced area. They drove a truck out to that corner. The tower will be set up along the western fence south of our eddy tower.

Daphne and I swapped the 7500 â€“ sn 0041 came off and sn 0073 went on.

We are expecting to get new sonics and upgrade kits to upgrade some of our old 7500s to 7500As. I thought we would get them before the inter-comparison but some snafus in the LBNL ordering has delayed their arrival. So for the inter-comparison we will run both the old eddy equipment and a set of the newer equipment.

We set up a secondary newer sonic (sn 153805) and 7500A (sn AIU-0650 and sn 75H-2150). I mounted a horizontal arm to the eddy tripod and vertical post about 20cm to the north of the tripodâ€™s post. The new eddy sensors went on the standard arms to the north. I ran a power line from the soil CO2 solar power system to power the secondary eddy sensors. This way the two system are completely independent â€“ reducing the chances of both of them failing during the inter-comparison. Both systems are running at 10Hz.
