Summary: Swapped out camera card and collected camera data, Rice again next year.

Twitchell Rice

We arrived at 9:55. The weather was sunny and mostly clear. We met Bryan Brock at East End and Bruce on the way out. They said they will plant rice again this year. Bruce said he hopes to start working in the fields about April 1st.

We swapped out the camera card with a different card. In order to transfer our custom firmware (CHDK), I copied all files from the old camera card to the laptop, then from laptop to the new camera card.

Old card: SanDisk Ultra 30 Mb/s, 8 GB, Class 10
New card: SanDisk SDHC Card, 4 GB, Class 4

Hopefully, the new card should be faster in moving photos to the laptop.

The camera's menu is funky--you can't see what the current menu selection is, so you have to count your number of clicks as you navigate through the menu.

We left at 10:10.
