Summary: Data logger on the soil system was dead; cows chewed through soil sensor cable; raingauge finally fixed.
| Feb 16, Friday, D47 Arrived at 1045 hours. Nice day, had been raining earlier in the week. Solar panel system was generating ample energy. Battery: 13.8 v; current 14.4 amps; load: 2.1 amps The data logger on the soil system was dead. *.10x, MD9_2. Looking at records, it died on D44 at 0800 hours. Cows chewed through the cable of soil sensor 54/015. Ted fixed the raingauge. The wiring was wrong. We now have rainfall. All previous rain records are wrong. Since we are without soil information, we moved 2 sensors to the 23x system. Soil Moisture Sensor 54/019 was put on channel 10. It is stored on loc 19. Its multiplier is 0.001, putting the sensor on the 0 to 1 volt scale. Soil heat flux sensor #141 was put on ch 11 and location 20. It is on the +/- 25 mv scale. Millivolt output is recorded. The output of the data logger was changed, inserting the average data of the soil moisture and soil heat flux sensors after the total of rain, but before the std deviations of radiation.
