The dry values of are reasonable and are in the range of 1.6 for mineral and 1.3 for organic soils.

Soil can L7 C wet 181.4 g; dry 168.17 g

Can wt: 28.8

Volume: 160 ml

Relative soil moisture: 13.23/160 = 0.0826 g/ml

Bulk density: 0.871

Soil can L11E

201.33g wet; dry: 189.06 g

can wt: 28.8

Volume: 160 ml

Relative Soil moisture: 12.27/160 = 0.0766 g/mL

Bulk Density: 1.001

These values are within the range of bulk densities observed with the larger sample. We note that the measure of volume is not perfect. We cut cores of soils out with the soil can. Then measured volume by dumping the soil in a graduated cylinder.

Other measures of Bulk density, vol 175 ml, can 28.8. These were conducted to improve upon the sample size.
