Summary: Raining, fixing odds and ends on tower.

Twitchell Met Frank about 10:30am. Took Frank’s 4-wheel drive out to field site because of recent and threatening rain. Left field about 2pm. Overcast with light to heavy rain the entire time. Water pooling in low spots on the field. Solar and batteries seemed fine. Even in rain we are getting 2amps from the panels, batteries were a 12.8V. Replaced jury-rigged LI7500 mount with standard mount – IRGA at same height as sonic. Adjusted feet of tower so that it appears more vertical – level reading hard to make Measured sonic heading – North spar pointing to 318 magnetic Measured radiation boom heading – pointing to 250 magnetic Connected HMP45 fan – need to check fan direction, add quick connect Added bolt to rad boom to prevent rotation – PAR/net slightly tilted Fix 23x error: “input storage full” - *A increase input storage to 40 locations Two wasps in computer box already – siliconed holes in computer box, data logger box and solar panel junction boxes – probably more holes to fill Moved HMP45 and Pyranometer to vertical pole on short end on rad boom – might need longer pole. Added bird spikes to sonic Powered Theta probes Copied data. CR1000 data was in single 540MB TOA file. Daily rename wasn’t working and I couldn’t fix in the rain. Big single file broken into hourly TOA files and daily mat files with matlab. We should probably collect data in TOB format then CardConvert could be used to chunk it up. Also got data from Frank’s tower. Still to do: Get Verizon working with some kind of remote access. Check HMP45 with Vaisala RH/T Mount/measure leaf wetness Try using Huseflux self calibration Add web cam, Vaisala pressure, rain bucket, water depth. |
